ACTIVISM WITH ALTRUISM RETREAT BRINGS HOPE AND INSPIRATION

The activism with altruism retreat over Labor Day proved to be a fruitful experience for the environmental community that attended. Venerable Chodron offered a number of beneficial and skillful tools for them to handle the seemingly overwhelming challenges that they are presented with daily.

From checking their motivations daily to understanding what it means to not harm physically, verbally or mentally to caring about others around them becoming the cause of peace in the world, many participants expressed deep gratitude and a fresh sense of hope and possibility at the end of the retreat.

A number of participants expressed interest in transcribing the teachings to be put into a small booklet for use by the activist community and the public in the future.

The teachings provoke a lot of sincere questions and insights as well as laughter.
