SEPTEMBER IN SINGAPORE
Kampung Senang and Eco-Harmony Ltd. in Singapore promote a healthy organic lifestyle and offer many services for children, the elderly, and cancer patients. They organized Singapore’s first holistic wellness symposium and, along with Poh Ming Tse Temple, invited Ven. Chonyi to participate. Friends of Sravasti Abbey Singapore were involved too, organizing several Dharma activities during the twelve day visit.

Beautifully modern, the new Poh Ming Tse Temple is non-sectarian and designed to appeal to young people.

Joyce explains that Kampung Senang volunteers maintain this prolific in-city garden to provide organic vegetables and vegan meals in their pre-schools and daycare centers, elderly daycare programs, and to cancer patients.
Members of the Phor Kark See Monastery’s youth ministry team invite Ven. Chonyi for a playful moment with the sramanera statues on the monastery grounds.

Organizer of many of the Dharma activities for this trip, Charmaine also leads a tour of the Botanical Gardens. Like everyone who sees them, she loves her new Sravasti Abbey hat!

Ven. Chonyi chairs the closing forum for Kampung Senang’s Holistic Wellness Symposium, which draws speakers from health, environmental, education, and religious organizations in seven countries.
Ruby and Monica are among the volunteers staffing Sravasti Abbey’s book table at the symposium.
At the close of the Chenresig retreat, Choon Fah offers a beautiful statue of Four-armed Chenresig to the Abbey, on behalf of all of FOSA-Singapore.
Seow Hong and Leng Poh make the presentation.
FOSA-Singapore volunteers and other Chenresig retreatants join in reciting dedications for the Abbey’s new Gotami House.
