EVERYONE WORKS DILIGENTLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY

Here are step by step photos of filling the new Buddha Shakyamuni statue.

Jigme and Dan lift the Buddha statue. It weighed about 190 lbs. before it was filled and considerably more afterwards.
The statue is turned upside down, in preparation of being filled.
The first few layers of mantras, incense and potpurri are in place.
The sok shing or "life wood" represents the central channel in the human body. The Heart of Dependent Arising mantra is written in gold on its four sides.
To make sure every empty space of the statue is filled, incense and potpurri are put in and then the mantra rolls are pounded to push them closer together.
Venerable Chodron dives head first into her work while Ruth and others offer mantra rolls.
It's getting fuller!
Many hands and hearts work together.
Sealing the base with epoxy before lifting it and placing it on the temporary altar in the house. The Buddha will be moved to the meditation hall once the hall is completed.
Ordell checks the epoxy to make sure it's properly sealed.
Removing the covering to expose the Buddha's face just before Khensur Rinpoche began the consecration ceremony.
