First we bowed to the Three Jewels.
Many of the volunteers took refuge and precepts at the gathering.

Ven. Chodron conducts a two-day Vajrasattva retreat at Phor Kar See Temple. 370 take off work to attend!
Ready for teachings
The discussion groups were fruitful. We learned a lot about the Dharma and made new friends at the same time.
Many people took refuge and lay precepts at the end of the retreat.
We dedicated the positive potential by reciting “The Extraordinary Aspiration of Samanthabhadra,” also called “The King of Prayers”.
Venerable meets with some old friends and conducts a Dharma talk at the invitation of a Singapore prison's Buddhist group.
Ven. Chodron greets an old friend, Yeow Khoon at the Buddhist Library. She knows him, from when she lived and taught in Singapore in 1987-8. He was a student at the university at that time.
Venerable knows Keng Chiak from the late 80s also, when he was a student at NTU. It’s wonderful to see so many old friends who have continued with their Buddhist practice and are teachings it to their children.
The Buddhist group at a Singapore prison invited Ven. Chodron to give a Dharma talk, which she did happily.
