ASIAN TEACHING TOUR - SPRING 2006
THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES...
Ven. Chodron’s teachings on Shantideva’s A Guide to a Bodhisattva’ Way of Life were held at Tai Pei Buddhist Centre in Singapore. They were sponsored by Pureland Marketing and organized by FOSA Singapore.

The students invited Ven. Chodron to speak in the traditional Chinese Mahayana fashion
The Buddha looked over us all.
The speaker’s chair was big and heavy so students kindly (and playfully) positioned it.
Now we’re ready to go...
...in triplicate...
...as everyone listened attentively.

After the teachings one evening Sherrine offered. flowers

And after teachings another evening How Tsiang and Chong Yen offered flowers

Choon Fah, the head of FOSA Singapore did a wonderful job getting everyone together and volunteers worked hard and happily.
Many people came up to make offerings and ask questions following the talks.
And some asked for Venerable’s “John Hancock” (in Singapore, that would probably be her "Lee Kuan Yew").
Ven. Chodron also taught two nights at Por Kar See Temple where the hall holds about 1000 people.
A long shot of the beautiful hall filled with interested and interesting people.
A little closer…the Buddha statue is so inspiring.
Coming closer, we can see the tiny person in the center - teaching.
FOSAS had a get together to thank all the volunteers. Some of the volunteers have known Ven. Chodron since 1987 when she lived in Singapore and they were still students.

Many generations of FOSA.
