Site of the Abbey![]() "… Sravasti Abbey is the Pure Land on Earth…" Site of the AbbeySravasti Abbey sits on 240 acres of beautiful meadow and forested land near Newport, Washington. It is about one hour north of Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The meadow is high on a hill, and the panoramic view from its top reminds our visiting lamas of Tibet. Sravasti Abbey experiences four distinct seasons, each adding a unique experience for Dharma practice.
About thirty acres of land are meadow. The rest is forested with diverse trees: birch, aspen, tamarack, Douglas fir, grand fir, lodgepole, and cedar to mention a few.
