The monastics of Sravasti Abbey endeavor to live generously through dedicating our lives to the Buddha's teachings, practicing them earnestly, and offering them to others.
Just as in the Buddha's time, the Abbey residents live solely by the kindness of others. All food, clothing, medicine, books and study materials, buildings and furnishings, recording and computing equipment - everything we need to live and to spread the Dharma - comes from offerings made to the Abbey.
Your offerings of material support, volunteer involvement, prayers, and practice are integral to the realization of Sravasti Abbey.
Volunteer and Have Fun!
The garden is growing, and volunteers to help tend the veggies, flowers, and fruit trees are welcome. Come August and September, fruits and veggies will be harvested and we’ll make applesauce and freeze the veggies. Taking care of the forest is also a priority this year. This spring, summer, and autumn, we will build the deck on the writing studio, relocate our entrance gate, and take care of a lot of small projects. Come and join us for a weekend or a week and enjoy offering service, as well as attending Dharma teachings, meditation, the company of Dharma friends, and walking in the woods and meadows.
