VISITING SANGHA FROM FAR AND NEAR COME TO THE ABBEY FOR THE TEACHINGS

Khensur Jampa Tegchok Rinpoche is a Geshe Lharampa and former abbott of Seraje Monastery. Rinpoche is the author of Transforming Adversity into Joy and Courage. He is also a member of the Abbey’s advisory board. It was great having so many Sangha members come for his wonderful teachings.

Rinpoche enjoyed daily walks. Here the sangha accompany him up to the abbey’s meadows.
Maroon robes against the deep blue sky. The monastics with Khensur Rinpoche stood where the abbey temple will one day be built.
Bhikkshuni Jendy Shih a Chinese monastic (also on the Abbey’s Advisory Board) came with 2 other bhikshunis to hear the teachings. Their calm and clear presence was greatly appreciated by all the participants.
A kind and wise teacher – Khensur Jampa Tegchok Rinpoche
The beautiful chanting of the Chinese bhikkshunis graced the lunch table at the abbey.
An intimate moment as the sangha watched Venerable Tarpa advise Rinpoche on how to care for his right arm which was recently broken.
Venerable Steve, Khensur Rinpoche’s translator shared a moment with his teacher. Both have cared for each other for many years and for many of us this was a teaching on how mutually beneficial the teacher/student relationship can be.

The abbey and visiting sangha pose with Khensur Rinpoche. It was wonderful to see all those robes!
Jo Simpson, Ven. Kim and Ven. Tenzin Chogkyi preside over the latest ordination. Our new nun got cold feet but went ahead anyway, even though she blushed til her nose turned red.
