VENERABLE CHODRON IN SINGAPORE - 2006

Having lived in Singapore in 1987-8, Ven. Chodron has a strong connection with Singaporeans and taught there again on her way to and from Singapore. Among the teachings were talks on Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, Tara retreat, a public talk, and a talk to a group of inmates at Changi prison.

The audience is warm, friendly, and eager to hear the Dharma.
The stage and Dharma seat at Tai Pei Buddhist Centre were well decorated. Ven. Chodron finds the Buddha statue there very serene and inspiring.
Chong Yen and Wei Tsiang offer flowers to Ven. Chodron at the conclusion of the public talk. Chong Yen is the son of Leng Poh and Seow Hong, the new FOSAS coordinators, and Wei Tsiang is the son of Sherin and Hwee Seng, the proprietors of Pureland Marketing, who together with Tai Pei Buddhist Centre, organized the teachings.
