BUILDING CONTINUES AT GOTAMI HOUSE
With the intricate permitting process finally completed, the building of the new monastic residence is in full operation. The concrete crew has completed two of its three stage pours; the plumbers are placing the crucial pipes that will run water into the residence.
The Abbey community goes to work as the cleanup crew, separating the reusable wood, nails and metal from the recyclable materials and trash. The next step is placing the gravel over the plumbing which will prepare the site for the concrete slab.
Every day the building takes shape as the community continues with its daily life as well as bringing fresh fruit, cool water and snacks to the workers. With your support the home for the sangha is unfolding.

Venerable Semkye and Thomas Orjala, the contractor for Gotami House look over some of the landscape wall designs.

The footings are the first forms to be constructed.

Venerable Chonyi stands on a ladder up against the 9 foot wall of the lower floor while Kathleen, one of the Abbeys lay residents, poses by the forms.

Some of the Friends of Sravasti Abbey come to visit and offer service. While here they check out the new construction.

A large pumping truck delivers the concrete into the forms. Access to the site is challenging for the concrete trucks.

One of the workers directs the concrete into the wood forms as other members of the crew level and smooths the mixture.
