REV CLARISSA VISITS - AUG 2006
Reverend Clarissa from the Portland Buddhist Priory visited the abbey recently. The priory is a branch of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives in the Soto Zen tradition. The headquarters of the order is Shasta Abbey in California. Reverend Clarissa’s honesty, humility and respect for her ordination was inspiring and beneficial to the abbey residents. And her sense of humor was great. Reverend sewed one of Jan’s robes for her novice ordination which was also wonderful to watch. .
